Marigolds all the way from India!

Room 4 received a packet of Marigold seeds all the way from Presentation Convent School, Delhi in India.

We planted some of the seeds in a window box in our classroom.

The seeds were really small.

We will have to take very good care of them.

We hope they will look like this when they grow!

We kept some of the seeds to plant outside in our school garden next week!

Room 4 and the Beanstalks!!

We have been learning all about farms in Room 4. Today we received a letter from Ned the farmer. He asked us to write back to him telling him how we planted our seeds.

We planted broad bean seeds. We hope they grow giant beanstalks like Jacks magic beans in Jack and the Beanstalk!

1. First we put some soil in our pots.

2. Next we made a hole with our fingers.

3. Then we put the seed in the hole and covered it with soil.

Next we wrote letters to Ned the farmer telling him how we planted our seeds. Here are pictures of some of our letters and pictures.

We will have to water the seeds everyday. We are also going to plant broad bean seeds in our school garden! We can't wait for our beanstalks to GROW and GROW and GROW!!!

Mothers Day

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day.
We hope all the mammy’s had a relaxing, peaceful day.
We made cards for our mothers.

We coloured in and cut out a teapot for the front of the card.

Inside we wrote this verse:

A cup of tea to say
Thank You,
for all the things you’ve done,
And wishes that
today will bring
happiness and fun.

We stuck a teabag inside the card so our mother could enjoy a nice cup of tea.

Clay Pots

Last week we made clay pots.

First we rolled the clay in to a ball.

Next we used our thumb to make a hole in the centre.

We used our thumb and our fingers to pinch the clay in to the shape of a pot.

What do you think??

Aren't they fantastic??

We can’t wait to paint them.
