We Went on a Leaf Hunt!

All of the leaves are falling off the trees! We went on a leaf hunt around the school and the convent gardens! We were looking for horse chestnut leaves, oak leaves and sycamore leaves. We also found chestnuts and sycamore seeds. We even saw a squirrel!!

When we came back we sorted the leaves into three groups - horsechestnut leaves, oak leaves and sycamore leaves. We coloured in pictures of the leaves and made leaf rubbings.

Spooky Halloween Fun!

We love the story 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. We read the story, sequenced pictures to retell the story and drew wonderful pictures of our favourite part of the story. You can watch an animated version of the story here!

We listened to 'Hedwig's Theme' from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. We all agreed the music was spooky and magical. You can listen to the orchestra play Hedwig's theme below.

We drew pictures while we listened to the music.

Take a look at some of our creative spooky halloween pictures inspired by Hedwigs Theme.

We also made scary monster Halloween headbands for our green Halloween Fashion Show!

Fantastic Fireworks.....

We used coloured chalk and black paper to draw these wonderful fireworks! Just like the ones you see at Halloween!

Green Halloween Fashion Show!

Before the midterm break we created scary monster headbands for our schools annual Green Halloween fashion show!!

We made our headbands from recycled materials such as bottle caps, fabric, scraps of coloured paper, egg cartons, plastic piping, paper straws, glue, sellotape and double sided tape.

We really enjoyed making them. Didn't we do a great job???

On Friday 24th October all of the classes went to the hall for the fashion show! We loved seeing all the creations from the other classes!!
