A Visit to the Garden

We visited our school garden to see how our plants are growing after the Easter holidays.

Our Marigolds are starting to grow.

Our Beanstalks are starting to grow too!

Nicole found a ladybird.

The herbs smelled really nice. We smelt lavender, sage, peppermint, lemon balm, oregano and mint!

We saw raspberries starting to grow on the raspberry plant.
 It has gotten very tall.

We watered our plants to help them grow.
We used water from the water butt.

The Water butt collects rainwater.

Easter Treasure Hunt

We got a great surprise just before the Easter holidays...... A letter from the Easter Bunny. He said we are the best Senior Infants in Dublin and as a reward he sent us on an Easter Treasure Hunt.

We had to go all around the school looking for clues. The first clue sent us to the school hall and we found another clue along with some Easter chicks in the basketball net. We had to jump really high to get it down!

The next clue was in the computer room. It was hidden inside a colourful Easter Egg Shell.

The front porch was the location of the next clue. It was hidden beside the tomato plants.

Next we had to go to the garden. The clue was hidden near the pond.

We found the next clue hidden in Mary's Office!

Finally the last clue lead us to a big bag of Easter goodies that the Easter Bunny hid in our teachers desk!! There was chocolate bunnies and chicks and chocolate Easter coins! Yum!

Easter Baskets

We painted our clay pots in lots of bright colours.
Next we added some eggs and chicks to make these beautiful Easter Baskets!

Sowing Seeds in the School Garden!

We planted beanstalks and marigolds in our school garden this week. It was great fun.

We planted the marigolds in the flower bed.

We planted the broad bean seeds in the raised bed for beans.

We had to put canes in the raised bed with the beans so that when the beanstalks begin to grow up and up and up they will be supported until they grow big and strong!

We found worms in the garden!

John showed us the worms in the compost bins.

John showed us how the water butt works. It collects rainwater for us to use in our garden!
